General counsel | Cibicom Group

How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?

As general counsel at Cibicom Group which offers complex digital connectivity solutions within 24/7, 365-days mission critical managed services, full-service delivery of telecom towers and installation-services in telecom towers, nationwide fibre-network-solutions, colocation-services in own datacentres,

and indoor mobile coverage DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems) to public authorities and businesses, you need to combine legal and compliance risk management with the commercial, technical and financial framework to be able to deliver strong legal solutions with the necessary balanced risk.

Strong negotiation skills, a solution-oriented approach and compliance/risk experience are essential to address complex technical, commercial and legal issues. To succeed, you need to build strong relations and trust within the whole organisation to be the valuable team player for all the different companies and departments in Cibicom Group.

What are the major cases or transactions you have been involved in recently?

After an EU-Tender process, Banedanmark, the Danish agency, under the Ministry of Transport in Denmark, responsible for maintaining, renewing and expanding the railway, awarded Cibicom with an up to 8-year long mission critical contract regarding Operation and Maintenance of GSM-R in Denmark.

Cibicom concluded the two largest colocation contracts to date, up to 15 years, both with Danish entities of two of the largest Tier 1 IT-services companies in the world, which IT-services companies help companies run their mission-critical systems and operations while modernising IT, optimising data architectures, and ensuring security and scalability across public, private and hybrid clouds.

In your opinion, what are the main trends that are salient in your country currently (these can be legal, political, economy or business-based)?

Cybersecurity is one of the main trends, and as part of our daily work within compliance and risk minimiing and risk assessment, we look forward to the NIS2 framework, CER framework and other cybersecurity frameworks towards critical sectors as energy, water, transport/infrastructure and defence/security, being practically implemented and regulated in the future. Cibicom Group holds the exclusive license to the long-reaching and robust 450 MHz network; “SecureCom LTE450”, that provides higher uptime and is more resilient to outages than other technologies, and “SecureCom LTE450” is in that respect ideal as a redundant cybersecurity solution, to further strengthen critical sectors overall cybersecurity and resilience for the benefit of us all.
