How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?
My focus is to balance PFA’s business goals and output to the need for compliant behaviour with a focus on reducing regulatory complexity and maximising legal operations ROI. The legal department ensure that we stay updated on evolving regulations from EU and Danish authorities and ensure compliance in our business processes as well as in early stages of new business initiatives.
What are the major cases or transactions you have been involved in recently?
Implementing DORA and AI Act in regard of improved business governance on cyber security and IA tools that also enhances the digitalisation of our business processes and our digital robustness.
What measures has your company taken to embed sustainability practices into its core business operations, and how does the role of the general counsel contribute to driving and ensuring sustainable practices within the company?
We have worked closely together with the PFA sustainability operations as well as our ESG-asset management department to embed sustainability practices, for example CSRD-annual reporting and compliant communication of sustainable actions and investments. We focus on strategic legal advice to Directors and C-level, and we are involved in strategic initiatives initiated by our business counterparts, both product developments and customer initiatives with focus on sustainability and equal treatment of customers as well as digital infrastructure programs and supplier due diligence.
What emerging technologies do you see as having the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future, and how do you stay updated on these developments?
Legal tools based on generative-AI are the most significant technology change to impact on the legal profession in the near future, and we stay updated by an incremental trial-and-error approach to new AI-tools in our MS-suite as well as new legal-AI suppliers that offer pilots and try-outs, typically referenced to us by our professional networks. My focus is to enable the right use of digital tools including AI in our business processes as well as in our legal department.
In your opinion, what are the main trends that are salient in your country currently?
The right use of AI in business processes, which are being promoted by our government and the financial sector.
