Career Biography
Joshua Onoja is a Nigerian sports law and administration professional with 15 years of experience in sports arbitration, governance, and management. He holds an International MA in Humanities, Management and Law of Sports (FIFA Master, 2025), an LL.M from the University of Jos, and an LL.B from Kogi State University, along with a certificate from the FIFA Executive Programme in Sports Arbitration.
He serves as the Chief Legal Officer of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), where he advises on all legal matters relating to football administration in Nigeria. Joshua has played key roles as Secretary of the NFF Players’ Status and Arbitration Committee – overseeing landmark decisions on disputes involving coaches, players, and clubs – as well as Secretary of the NFF Ethics Committee and the NFF Security Committee, contributing to ethical governance and the coordination of safety and security for international matches involving Nigeria’s national teams.
