Legal team size: Five
What are the projects that you are most proud of working on over the past 12 months?
I’m really proud of the role I’ve played in driving the adoption of UNiDAYS’ proprietary verification technology – most notably through some major global partnerships. As a mom to 5 children, I understand first-hand the importance of wanting reassurance when it comes to our young people’s social media footprint.
Supporting UNiDAYS in providing this market-leading verification service across the globe to some of the world’s biggest brands has been a significant focus for us and our team has been incredible at navigating a range of complexities to make this happen.
Based on your experiences in the past year, are there any trends in the legal or business world that you are keeping an eye on that you think other in-house lawyers should be mindful of?
Clearly, we’re facing an uncertain time in the economy, with many economists predicting a “winter”.
Whatever economic challenges are around the corner, businesses that have robust parameters in place when it comes to corporate governance, strong leadership, and effective communication will do better than those who are lacking in these areas. These elements are crucial for maintaining accountability and promoting sustainable business growth.
What are the key things you prioritise to get the most out of your team?
It’s so important to create space for the team to step out of the busy-ness of the day-to-day and to empower them to think strategically about the impact of their work on the business.
I also prioritise the establishment of clear, collaborative communication, and the creation of a culture that balances strategic direction with individual autonomy.
