How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?

  

Aligning legal strategy with business and stakeholders. I see the legal function as a strategic partner and influencer at the leadership table. Our approach is to engage early with business stakeholders – from sales and supply chain to marketing and market access – so legal strategy is woven directly into the fabric of business planning. To be a trusted advisor, we must listen to business imperatives, frame legal guidance in commercial terms, and build consensus around ethically sound, patient-centric outcomes. This balance of influence and pragmatism ensures that the legal team is seen as a business partner, even during periods of instability or crises. We invest in building a compliance-conscious yet empowered organisation, where teams understand that integrity is not a constraint but a competitive advantage.

  

What are the major cases or transactions you have been involved in recently?

I provide strategic legal guidance that balances business agility with compliance excellence. I have played a key role in addressing complex regulatory challenges in Mexico, reinforcing our proactive and solutions-oriented legal strategies. I have recently contributed to the development and implementation of legal strategies that supported the successful launch of core and strategic products, enabling innovation while safeguarding compliance and business integrity at Boston Scientific. In addition, I have been involved in projects related to activities based on a legitimate need, with the purpose of expanding the potential medical device market through disease awareness campaigns that could facilitate access to Boston Scientific products and related procedures, and/or by entering new market segments.
