Chika Hirata joined American International Group (AIG) in June 2025 as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of AIG Japan. Before joining AIG, she was the Head of Japan/JPBU Ethics & Compliance at Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited (Takeda). She also led the pharmaceutical industry as the first female Chair of the Code & Compliance Committee at Japan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (JPMA).

Prior to Takeda, Chika has worked at MetLife Insurance in Japan as Statutory Executive Officer, SVP & Chief Legal Officer, and at various global financial institutions as well as in private practice as a lawyer.
