How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?

By adopting a multi-faceted strategy that prioritizes risk mitigation, compliance, and strategic alignment with the broader business objectives.

A proactive identification of potential legal risks arising from instability or crisis is essential to be able to develop various “what-if” scenarios and anticipate potential legal challenges. Closely monitor any changes in laws and regulations is also of utmost importance.

What emerging technologies do you see as having the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future, and how do you stay updated on these developments?

I believe Artificial Intelligence (AI) will have the most profound impact on the legal profession in the near future. Its ability to automate tasks, analyze vast quantities of data, and provide predictive insights is transformative. Specific applications, like AI-powered legal research, contract review, and due diligence, will significantly increase efficiency and accuracy.

To stay updated on AI developments, I dedicate time to: attend industry conferences and webinars to discuss AI practical applications for legal professionals; and engage with peers to exchange knowledge and insights.

In your opinion, what are the main trends that are salient in your country currently?

In Italy, several key trends are shaping the legal, political, economic, and business landscape. Sustainability and ethical sourcing are under growing legal and consumer scrutiny, with stricter regulations emerging around textile production, waste management, and supply chain transparency. Protecting the “Made in Italy” brand against counterfeiting and intellectual property infringement remains a critical priority, requiring robust brand protection strategies, proactive enforcement, and close collaboration with law enforcement. At the same time, geopolitical uncertainty and global economic instability are creating significant disruptions and challenges across industries.
