How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?

To be able to manage legal aspects during periods of instability or crisis, it is important for the legal function to be close to and closely align with the business and understand the environment that we are a part of, in order to stay agile at all times. This is done through my presence in the top management of Radiometer Medical and in the legal leadership team in our group’s diagnostic platform, by participating in cross-functional working groups and being close to strategic decision-making making and projects at all times.

What are the major cases or transactions you have been involved in recently?

Supporting the business in managing risks in connection with US tariffs, and other governmental initiatives in the US, as well as new regulatory initiatives impacting the sale of our products in China, as well as transactions pertaining to ensuring supply of raw materials and contract manufacturing from third party suppliers, which has included acquiring the activities of a supplier of certain business critical products.

What emerging technologies do you see as having the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future, and how do you stay updated on these developments?

AI remains the most important emerging technology that will have impact on the legal profession. It is key to understand and define strategies for using AI in day to day case handling, e.g. for gathering and analysing data and information and ensuring that the business also applies AI where relevant in product development and in the products that are offered to the customers. This also involves navigating the fast evolving regulatory frameworks and requirements to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulation.
