Career Biography

Ms. Zheng is general counsel at JD Technology. She obtained her Master’s degree in Civil and Commercial Law and her Doctorate in Procedural Law from China University of Political Science and Law. Earlier in her career, she served as a judge with extensive civil and commercial trial expertise.

Ms. Zheng joined JD in 2018, where she was in charge of policy and legal research, dispute resolution, and made outstanding contributions in the field of e-commerce law, personal information protection law (PIPL), and antitrust law, etc. As the general counsel at JD Technology, Ms. Zheng oversees all legal matters and leads a team in charge of the establishment of legal frameworks for fintech, domestic and cross-border data privacy compliance, prospective research, compliance and intellectual property strategies of emerging technologies such as large AI models. She also pivotally and meaningfully affects the dispute resolution of the company.

Under her leadership, JD Technology has successfully navigated the complexities of the global legal environment, achieving rapid growth while adhering to stringent compliance standards. Additionally, her team leverages the power of AI to develop AI powered contract review tools, online risk management systems, and legal intelligent Q&A assistants. These tools provide real-time legal consultations to the company, facilitating the digitalisation and intelligence of legal work, and significantly enhancing compliance efficiency and risk management capabilities. These initiatives have not only strengthened the company’s competitive edge but also set new benchmarks for the industry.
