Career

Ian is a specialist planning and environmental lawyer. He advises clients in the public and private sectors on all aspects of planning law, including applications, appeals, enforcement and judicial review.

He has significant experience of drafting complex planning agreements, such as s.106 planning obligations, as well as advising on due diligence during property transactions.

Ian has advised on a number of large-scale developments and has extensive experience of the use of compulsory purchase powers

He has a particular interest in the law relating to the historic environment as well as extensive environmental experience including advising on environmental impact assessment, contaminated land, environmental permitting and statutory nuisance.
