Energy is a core practice area at Antika Law Firm. Managing partner Alexey Kot leads on natural resources and Alexander Burtovoy is head of the energy efficiency group. Kot and Sergii Korniienko advised JV Delta on permits for subsoil use and on gas production at two wells in Western Ukraine.

Asters has 'a great team with highly professional individuals'. Armen Khachaturyan, the 'particularly strong' Yaroslav Petrov and Tamara Lukanina lead the practice. Litigator Markiyan Kliuchkovskyi and Roman Stepanenko, who were new arrivals from Egorov Puginsky Afanasiev & Partners, add finance and disputes expertise. Eustream and VR Capital are key clients.

Baker McKenzie, Kyiv Office¬†stands out for 'excellent teamwork'.¬†Serhiy Piontkovsky¬†and¬†Ihor Olekhov¬†have 'outstanding technical skills and excellent relationships with clients'. The practice¬†advised investment company¬†Polenergia on the¬†Ukraine ‚Äď EU Energy Bridge Project. Energoatom and the EBRD are also clients.

CMS is 'still the market leader', according to one client. Practice heads Vitaliy Radchenko and Johannes Trenkwalder count Scatec Solar and McKinsey among their clients. Senior associate Volodymyr Kolvakh is also noted.

At Dentons, Adam Mycyk acted for DTEK Renewables on the development of a 200MW solar power plant in Nikopol. Counsel Maksym Sysoiev, who assisted Acciona Energia with solar power investments, is also recommended. Myron Rabij is now with McCarter & English, LLP in New York.

Eterna Law's team is noted for the 'speed of its solutions'. Oleh Malskyy leads the practice, which includes alternative energy specialist Maksym Uslystyi, who provides 'useful and quick solutions'. The latter advised a private seller on the sale of an oilfield in Kazakhstan to a US investor

The 'swift, up-to-date, creative and helpful team' at Kinstellar handles a wide range of work for a stellar client base. The practice, which is led by Olena Kuchynska, handles M&A, disputes, regulation, trading, power plant projects and competition law matters. The firm is currently advising the board of Naftogaz of Ukraine on energy sector regulation.

Redcliffe Partners continues to grow its client base in the energy sector. Ukrnafta, which Dmytro Fedoruk assisted with contracts for the rehabilitation of oil reservoirs, is among its new clients. Corporate partner Rob Shantz and head of renewable energy Svitlana Teush are also recommended.

Sayenko Kharenko is known for its ' reliability, responsiveness, professionalism and huge expertise in the most sophisticated cases'. Nazar Chernyavsky advised Bank of America Merrill Lynch on the $250m financing of Energoatom. Vladimir Sayenko and counsel Igor Lozenko are other names to note.

Aequo handles projects, corporate transactions and disputes in the energy sector. Regulatory expert Denis Lysenko and corporate partner Anna Babych are the key contacts. Among their clients are Ukraine's largest gas producer, gas supplier Fortex Energy and US energy services company Itron.

Arzinger acts for domestic and international oil and gas companies and is counsel to Ukraine's Ministry of Energy and Coal. Managing partner Timur Bondaryev, infrastructure partner Andrey Selyutin and litigator Markian Malskyy lead the practice. Clients include Ukrnafta and Cadogan Petroleum.

Avellum handles the development, acquisition, disposal and financing of energy projects for financial investors and energy companies. Glib Bondar advised Ukraine's Ministry of Finance on a $250m loan to nuclear power operator Energoatom. EBRD and Metinvest are among the firm's other clients.

At DLA Piper Ukraine LLC, corporate partners Oleksandr Kurdydyk and Galyna Zagorodniuk are the key contacts. Kurdydyk assisted the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety of Germany with the establishment of an energy efficiency fund.

At EVERLEGAL, energy and natural resources is a core practice area. The firm frequently advises Ukrainian renewable energy companies on regulatory, corporate, financing and commercial issues. Yevheniy Deyneko and Andriy Olenyuk assisted UDP Renewables with the sale of solar power plants.

GOLAW acts for Ukrainian and international investors and developers, predominantly in the renewables sector, on power purchase agreements, financing, regulatory matters and M&A deals. Sergiy Oberkovych and Max Lebedev advised KBPP Management on a grid connection for a biomass plant.

Integrites is 'clearly a strong player in the energy sector', thanks to its lawyers' knowledge of real estate, construction, natural resources and licensing law. Ilyashev & Partners provides advice of 'a high level', according to one client. The group handles projects work and dispute resolution for energy sector clients. The 'reliable and gifted' Roman Marchenko acted for Russia's largest northern oil port, Port Vitino, on its restructuring.

KPMG Ukraine is 'very responsive and provides robust, good quality work'. The 'clear and thoughtful' Yuriy Katser acts for Ukrainian energy companies and multinational corporations. He advised an overseas investor on the acquisition of four 10MW solar power plants.
