How confident are you that you will be kept on at the end of your training contract?

The ultimate goal of a training contract is to qualify as a solicitor. A firm should endeavour to keep as many of its trainees as possible once they have qualified, especially after spending thousands of pounds training them up in a specific way. For reasons such as budget or departmental constraints, a 100% retention score is not always possible. When researching firms you would be wise to keep an eye on the last few years’ retention rates. At these Lex 100 Winner firms some trainees will have already been offered NQ positions whilst others are confident that a job offer is coming their way.
