Anthony Hunt and Ashley Reeback lead the team at Howard Kennedy LLP, which was bolstered by the arrivals of Jonathan Polin from Dentons in June 2017 and Jonathan Cohen from Eversheds Sutherland (International) LLP in October 2017. The team is noted for its expertise in the hotel, restaurant, leisure and retail sectors: highlights in these areas included Hunt acting for Pandora Jewellery UK on the acquisitions of various concept stores from franchise partners; Paul Glassberg advising Yolana and AYU London (companies associated with restaurateur Alan Yau) on their joint venture with an investor to develop and operate a chain of Turkish restaurants; and Eric Gummers acting for Fairview Hotels on the acquisitions of hotels in Cardiff, Newcastle and Rugby as part of its continued expansion programme. In addition, Gillian White advised the shareholders and management of the Aston Barclay Group on the MBO by Rutland Partners. Michael Harris and legal director Stephanie Brigg are also noted.
