Position
Steven Clinning is a banking solicitor. As a seasoned ex-banker he has seen the finance industry from both sides during his 30 plus year career. He is Head of the Banking & Real Estate Finance team.
Steven’s clients benefit from the extra experience he has having spent some of his career as a banker. He specialises in banking and finance law.
Steven manages transactions for both lenders and borrowers, moving lending opportunities from instruction through to completion in a smooth and efficient manner.
He advises clients on a wide variety of financing work, including property finance, corporate acquisitions, hotel finance, trading businesses, development finance, and asset finance.
Having worked in finance for over 30 years – with 12 of those years working in the finance sector for banks and lenders – Steven’s experience of both sides of the industry is invaluable to clients as he brings an extra dimension to his advice.
He works hard to ensure transactions get completed on time and in good order but also advises his lender and borrower clients to enable them to minimise their exposure to risk on a transaction.
Steven aims to understand and anticipate his clients requirements and to develop longstanding relationships with all his clients. He always adopts a commercial and pragmatic stance on transactions, giving sensible advice in often complex matters.
