Partner. Claus Barrett Christiansen specialises in intellectual property, marketing and technology embracing legal issues concerning trademarks, designs, marketing, including price marketing and comparative advertising, copyrights, patents, e-commerce, domains, licence agreements, distribution and agency agreements and databases, IP in relation to transfer pricing and global IP strategy, international injunctions and seizure of evidence, IP oppositions, revocations, cancellations and filing strategies. As a member of Bech-Bruun’s Chinese Desk, Claus has advised Danish corporations on Chinese IP and enforcement for more than 10 years and he has been teaching IP in China. Furthermore, he advises and represents Chinese corporations in IP matters in the Nordic region. Claus is a seasoned litigator before the Danish and European courts. He has substantial lecturing experience within his fields of expertise, giving classes for more than a decade in International Trademarks Law, International Copyright Law, Marketing Law and Business Law at Aarhus University and Aarhus School of Business.

IP litigator Claus Barrett Christiansen jointly leads the team and assisted a number of well-known clothing company with investigations into the sale and distribution of counterfeit goods. Clients single out fellow practice head Martin Draebye Gantzhorn as 'very knowledgeable about life sciences and IP' with 'a great network of other specialists in those areas'. Other key names include patent litigator Klaus Ewald Madsen, who represented Hedensted Gruppen in a patent infringement dispute against Jasopels relating to apparatuses and methods for the treatment of mink furs; life sciences specialist Christian Vinding Thomsen, and litigation and licensing expert Dan Bjerg Geary.
