COMPANY/FIRM: Hodge Jones & Allen Solicitors
TESTIMONIAL: Very efficient lawyer in resolving my disrepair claim four months from start to finish. The lawyer handling my case was very professional throughout and kept me informed at every stage, apart from one visit from the property surveyor everything was dealt with via email or phone which I found easier than visiting the office. Apart from being professional the lawyer was friendly and took time to explain some points I didn’t fully understand. I would personally recommend this company to anyone looking for a reliable service and if the need arises I won’t hesitate using again myself.

COMPANY/FIRM: Hodge Jones & Allen Solicitors
TESTIMONIAL: My case was handled with professionalism and punctuality. I liked the attitude of being kept informed of the possibility of a good or not so good an outcome. Advice offered, but in no sense was there a feeling of excessive persuasion or persistence. A good outcome, from having had an accident 2016, until now – 3years – later, when my case was satisfactorily settled.

COMPANY/FIRM: Hodge Jones & Allen Solicitors
TESTIMONIAL: I approached Hodge Jones & Allen a few months ago after my landlords unfairly served me with an eviction notice, HJA were happy to take on my case and as such spent a lot of time and effort in compiling a very thorough and detailed case file and building a very strong defence for me; while keeping in constant contact with me at all times. Eventually, when we went to court, my solicitor attended with me. The outcome being that the judge ruled in my favour and cancelled the eviction notice effective immediately. I am very satisfied with all the assistance I received from my solicitor and HJA as a whole. Therefore, I would highly recommend HJA for anyone in need of legal assistance and/or representation.

COMPANY/FIRM: Hodge Jones & Allen Solicitors
TESTIMONIAL: I cannot thank Hodge Jones & Allen Solicitors enough for their help with my case. They were sensitive, kind, and extremely efficient, keeping me informed throughout, resulting in winning my case. I would highly recommend their services to anyone.

TESTIMONIAL: I am so grateful for finding HJA… Especially Peter Todd and his team. They assisted me through a very hard time and long process and got me a better result than I ever expected. I would highly recommend Peter as he made a very stressful time as easy as it could have been for me. Always available to contact anytime and very helpful, I also feel he goes far beyond his call of duty with regards to support and advice which was greatly appreciated during a tough time. I would be more than happy to recommend to anyone. Thank you again Peter (and team) for everything you done for me.

COMPANY/FIRM: Hodge Jones & Allen Solicitors
TESTIMONIAL: I instructed Hodge Jones & Allen Solicitors to represent a vulnerable young female who was under 16 in a complex case which had already been to court and back a number of times. I had serious concerns about the implications of criminal court proceedings for this young person and Elena Papamichael listened to my concerns carefully. In less that 48 hours after she received the papers for the case she was successful in persuading prosecution to drop charges. I am very grateful.

COMPANY/FIRM: Hodge Jones & Allen Solicitors
TESTIMONIAL: The lawyer who assisted me was very kind. He understood my situation and gave me the support and advice I needed. I think they have a translator if your first language is not English. That really is appreciated a lot.

COMPANY/FIRM: Hodge Jones & Allen Solicitors

My solicitor who win the case was Shabnam Shekarian and she knows everything worth knowing about housing law. She won my case after proving my Local Authority wrong! She followed my instructions as discussed and offered me the best legal advice ever! Would highly recommend. A***

TESTIMONIAL: I have been dealing with Hodge Jones & Allen solicitors and I really couldn’t recommend them enough! Peter Todd is a credit to this company, very professional, very caring and very sensitive. Always had a quick response which really impressed me not once did I have to chase anything up. Most importantly, I could ring up Peter or any of his team and I didn’t feel uncomfortable or feel like I’m bothering them with a stupid question. He was always very polite and answered anything I asked. Made the whole process very clear, kept me updated and I understood what was happening every step of the way. Unbelievable service! Big thanks from all of us.

From my initial meeting with James and throughout this process I have been so impressed with not only his professionalism but also the empathy which he has shown. James has not been just another Legal Advisor simply carrying out the duties, he has been there for us and we are very grateful. Thank you James and also all at Hodge Jones & Allen, he is a real credit to you.

The Lex 100 Verdict

A 'reputation for civil liberties and human rights work,' 'focus on claimant work,' and the 'value and quality of the work' make this firm stand out. These qualities attracted trainees: 'the firm's strong ethos around access to justice and helping people who can't afford legal protection resonated with me'. Several of the respondents had previously worked at the firm as paralegals and were familiar with its ethos and working culture. One applauded its 'diversity and commitment to social justice. The firm attracts 'mostly like-minded people which makes it a truly wonderful place to work'. The work itself can be daunting because, as one trainee says, 'some of the cases involve quite dark subjects which can be rather unsettling'. But it is also said that 'the best thing about working at this firm is the type of work'. Supervisors are praised for the trust they place in trainees and the training itself is lauded for the amount of client contact for which the firm secures a Lex 100 Winner award. Drawbacks include the pay scale and 'lack of transparency from management' but in the words of one trainee 'no one comes to HJA for the pay'. Highlights of the training include 'managing and attending hearings by myself, in particular a six-week murder trial with five defendants at the Old Bailey' and 'doing the advocacy at a hearing for an objection to an interim charging order'. If human rights and civil liberties are your areas of interest, Hodge Jones & Allen Solicitors is a must on your list.
