As announced ARNECKE SIBETH is growing further: the addition of Alexander Son on 1 September will strengthen ARNECKE SIBETH’s IP/IT/Commercial team. He will join the Munich office as an Equity-Partner not only to support the Practice Group but principally to develop a Korea-Desk at the firm.

Son has practiced as a lawyer in Munich since 2001, specialising in Intellectual Property rights. He was responsible in his last role at the German branch of US Firm Ratner Prestia for large clients such as Humax Digital, Seoul Semiconductor and Daewoo Electronics.

Dr. Anton Ostler and Dr. Werner Blau, both Partners in this area at ARNECKE SIBETH, welcome the new addition: “Alexander Son will bring not only excellent support including international consulting clients in intellectual property rights with a focus on patent rights to the firm, he also, as a German-Korean, has valuable experience in that region and is very well connected in Korea. Like Werner Blau he serves on the board of the German Korean Law Society.

Son is not the only new joiner at the ever growing firm. Sandra Gaidies will join from DLA Piper, Frankfurt as a salary partner for corporate finance at the same time, and Dr. Johannes Ylinen will move from Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Doer LLP to join ARNECKE SIBETH as a Senior Associate in Berlin.

Managing-Partner Michael Siebold: “ Mrs. Gaidies will complement recently joined Dr. Nadejda Kysel ideally and thereby further strengthen our Corporate Finance Team. Ylinen will ensure continuing growth in our expertise in the practice areas around Dr. Moritz Lorenz including Merger Control, State Aid and Competition Law.

ARNECKE SIBETH is not solely focused on external growth but is also promoting internal experts: Dr. Quirin Vergho, an Insurance Professional, will become an Equity Partner as of 1.1.2018.
