Maritime and shipping Tier 1
Arnecke Sibeth Dabelstein continues to use the synergies from the 2018 merger between Arnecke Sibeth and Dabelstein & Passehl, enabling the practice to handle a broad spectrum of maritime industry work. Its offering includes financing, shipbuilding and maritime employment law advice as well as assistance with transport insurance and contentious issues. Team head Jan Dreyer acts for shipping companies, banks, offshore suppliers and has particular expertise in drafting and negotiating contracts pertaining to the shipbuilding and supply industries, while Dieter Schwampe is recommended for maritime insurance and maritime law. He is also regularly appointed as arbitrator. At the interface between the maritime industry and corporate law, Jan Tjarko Eichhorn demonstrates particular expertise in the establishment of joint ventures and cooperation agreements.
Transport law Tier 1
Arnecke Sibeth Dabelstein acts far beyond the boundaries of classic transport law and, following the successful merger between Arnecke Sibeth and Dabelstein & Passehl in 2018, is increasingly proving its broad bench strength when assisting with major projects and worldwide transport chains. The firm's particular areas of expertise include valuables-in-transit and matters arising from its cooperation with the pharmaceutical, chemical and food industries. Team head and experienced transport industry advisor Holger Bürskens is regularly involved in the structuring and supervision of various transport and logistics projects. Assisting forwarders with contentious and non-contentious matters and handling transport contracts are part of Marco Remiorz's key areas of expertise. Ulrich Steppler and Katja Brecke are key individuals in the aviation space, a core competence of the team, where they advise airlines and companies in the aviation and travel industry on transactions, contracts and liability issues. With counsel Carsten Vyvers, who defends against claims for damages and asserts claims for freight compensation, the firm also has a strong bench at the junior level.
‘Counsel Christine Kranich is very reliable, solution-oriented and flexible, thinks pragmatically and is very well connected, particularly in the aviation industry.’
The construction law team at Arnecke Sibeth Dabelstein puts substantial emphasis on the entire life cycle of project developments of properties. Besides its traditional strengths in assisting contracting authorities with plant engineering projects, the firm most recently focused on the realisation and marketing of inner-city locations on behalf of building societies. In this context, the team demonstrates expertise in relation to asset categories hotels and office buildings as well as shopping centres. Michael Grünwald is the key contact for long-lasting matters with transactional aspects, while practice head Thomas Richter specialises in the implementation of cooperative construction models in agreement with public authorities during complex project developments.
Unfair competition Tier 4
Arnecke Sibeth Dabelstein focuses on advising companies in regulated industries, such the food, chemical, cosmetics and pharmaceutical sectors, on various contentious and non-contentious competition law matters, while the team led by Thomas Körber and Anton Maria Ostler also has extensive experience in sports law.
