Career

Nicolas Résimont is a specialist in domestic and cross-border litigation as well as in national and international arbitration, acting both as counsel and arbitrator.
He has extensive experience in commercial, contractual and construction project disputes and also has a specific expertise in banking and energy sector related litigation. 
He also handles very complex matters of conflict of laws, and private and public international law, and has developed a broad practice in dealing with procedural and (transnational) jurisdiction issues.
Moreover, he has developed a particular expertise in crisis management and in pre-litigation issues, such as in the context of the performance of projects.
He regularly advises clients, such as large multinationals, governments and banks, on their most strategic and sensible matters.
From 2004 to 2014, Nicolas lectured, as a Professor assistant, on Law of Contracts, and Obligations and Torts at the Free University of Brussels (ULB).
In 2004, he obtained the Boels prize awarded by the Brussels Bar for the best oral pleadings.

Recent highlights include representing KBC Bank in a dispute regarding the recovery of credit facilities granted to Belgian diamond trader Exelco, which filed for bankruptcy protection in the US; the US proceedings were dismissed.
