Sayenko Kharenko acted as Ukrainian legal counsel to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on providing an up to EUR 7.5 million synthetic loan in local currency to Bank Lviv under the EU4Business-EBRD Credit Line. The synthetic structure of the loan provides access to long-term UAH funds to eligible SME borrowers of Bank Lviv.

The funding is provided in the context of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA) between the EU and Ukraine. The funding also includes grants to be offered as investment incentives to eligible enterprises aiming to improve technology and production processes of SMEs in line with EU standards.

The EBRD is a leading institutional investor in Ukraine. To date, the Bank has committed more than EUR 14.54 billion in over 460 projects to the country.

Bank Lviv is a regional bank providing banking services to SMEs and private clients across western Ukraine.
