The Firm recently secured a victory for Weatherford Oil and Gas M.E in an arbitration claim filed against the company in Islamabad. Weatherford is one of the largest companies in the world for oil and gas services with operations in more than 75 countries.

The claim was filed against Weatherford under Section 20 of the Arbitration Act 1940 for the appointment of arbitrators.

The Firm successfully demonstrated before the court that the matter did not fall under the purview of an arbitration claim and that the instant application was also defective on account of irregularity of power of attorney and claim.

The stellar performance of the lead litigation partner Mr. Shafiq ur Rehman was such that the matter was dismissed in favor of Weatherford after a matter of five to six initial hearings only.

The Firm’s success in the matter show cases our expertise in dispute resolution and court performance. The successful outcome also show cases our ability for technical knock outs thereby saving clients financial loss.

General Counsels usually in our experience also prefer a technical knock out to a protracted litigation.
