BonelliErede is highly rated for its expertise in privatisations and listings, as well as capital raisings. The team advised the global coordinators on ENAV’s IPO and admission to listing on the Italian Stock Exchange; the client list also includes high-profile companies (as issuers). Milan-based Carlo Montagna, Gianfranco Veneziano, Alberto Saravalle, Vittoria Giustiniani, are recommended along with Alessandra Piersimoni, an ‘outstanding hands-on lawyer who brings great value during difficult deal negotiations’. In Rome, Emanuela Da Rin, Silvia Romanelli and Barbara Napolitano are also highly rated. High-value highlights included Milan-based team head Manfredi Vianini Tolomei advising Veneto Banca on a €1bn capital increase and subsequent offer of newly issued shares. Federica Calmi and Rome-based Enrico Giordano are also recommended.

Clifford Chance’s practice covers IPOs, privatisations, rights issues, exchangeable and convertible bonds, and block trades. Milan-based Italian capital markets head Filippo Emanuele and Alberta Figari recently advised the joint global coordinators and joint book-runners on Saipem’s share capital increase. Paolo Sersale is also recommended.

Highly appreciated for its quality and depth’, Linklaters promoted Ugo Orsini to counsel; Cheri De Luca is another key counsel and Claudia Parzani is ‘extremely dynamic, highly experienced and very insightful’. The team recently advised UniCredit on the €328m placing of ordinary shares in FinecoBank.

Gianni, Origoni, Grippo, Cappelli & Partners’ Rome-based department head Andrea Marani is ‘very helpful during long, complex negotiations’. Fabio Ilacqua in Milan advised UniCredit Bank (Milan) and Banca Intermobiliare di Investimenti e Gestioni on the IPO and listing of H-Farm.

Latham & Watkins LLP’s office managing partner Antonio Coletti is ‘a well-established lawyer with thorough capital markets expertise’. The team advised Alabbar Enterprises on the subscription of €100m worth of additional new shares in Yoox Net-a-Porter. Maria Cristina Storchi is also recommended and Ryan Benedict was promoted to partner.

Shearman & Sterling LLP regularly advises on high-profile offerings of equity securities, including rights offerings and IPOs. Rome-based managing partner Domenico Fanuele and Tobia Croff in Milan are names to note.

White & Case (Europe) LLP recently advised a syndicate of banks – led by Goldman Sachs International, J.P. Morgan Securities and Mediobanca – on Technogym’s €163m IPO. Ferigo Foscari, Paul Alexander, Iacopo Canino and Michael Immordino. are recommended.

DLA Piper’s recent highlights include department head Francesco Maria Aleandri advising the underwriters on the Milan Stock Exchange (STAR Segment) listing and rights issuance of Tecnoinvestimenti. Michael Bosco left the firm.

Gatti Pavesi Bianchi Studio Legale Associato’s ‘lawyers have excellent business acumen and give appropriate advice’. The team assisted Tecnoinvestimenti with a capital increase. Key figures are Luigi Arturo Bianchi, Anton Carlo Frau - Francesco Gatti, as well as Carlo Pavesi, Rossella Pappagallo and Stefano Valerio.

Legance – Avvocati Associati has particular experience in AIM and MTA (AIM’s Italian equity market) listing procedures. It acted for S C M SIM on its AIM Market listing process. Milan-based Bruno Bartocci and Giorgio Vanzanelli are recommended.

Allen & Overy – Studio Legale Associato recently assisted ENAV with its €759m IPO. Rome-based Cristiano Tommasi ‘really makes the difference in structuring complex deals’.

Lombardi Segni e Associati recently spun off from Lombardi Molinari Segni. The team’s experience includes assisting the managers and underwriters on a €1bn global offering. Rome-based Antonio Segni is recommended.

At NCTM Studio Legale, Milan-based Lukas Plattner advised Energica Motor Company on its AIM Italia listing.

Pedersoli Studio Legale recently advised EGEA – Ente Gestione Energia e Ambiente on a share capital increase. Turin-based Marcello Magro and Carlo Re are key advisers.
