Jones Day’s new fund instructions included Alessandro Corno advising Alcedo Societa’ di Gestione del Risparmio on the establishment of private equity investment fund, Alcedo IV. Other highlights included the practice assisting Muzinich & Co with the restructuring of a Luxembourg private debt fund.

Legance – Avvocati Associati regularly advises on the planning, structuring, formation and marketing of investment funds. The team recently acted for 21 Investimenti on the structuring and establishment of a private equity investment scheme, which was set up as an Italian closed-end fund. Milan-based Enzo Schiavello is ‘highly experienced and has pioneered the industry’s best practices’. Barbara Sancisi is a key senior counsel.

Chiomenti Studio Legale often advises on the establishment of investment funds and asset management companies, as well as on asset management agreements. Hogan Lovells Studio Legale’s Jeffrey Greenbaum is ‘a very effective lawyer, who always provides useful suggestions’; he has a strong international financial regulatory background and is based in Rome. He recently assisted Prelios with the launch of an Italian alternative real estate investment fund, with the assistance involving an analysis of regulatory aspects, drafting the fund rules and reviewing outsourcing agreements.

Romeo Battigaglia assisted asset manager Jupiter with the establishment of its Italian branch, including drafting Markets in Financial Instruments Directive policies. Bird & Bird has a particular focus on undertakings for collective investment in transferable securities (UCITS), real estate funds and venture capital products. The team recently advised longstanding client Europa Risorse SGR, an Italian fund manager that is active in the real estate sector, on the structuring and establishment of two real estate alternative investment funds.
