Legance - Avvocati Associati 'provides insightful legal advice'. The practice is experienced in investment grade and sub-investment grade bonds and covered, high-yield, convertible, mini and project bonds, as well as securitisation work, liability management transactions and derivatives. It advised Quaestio Capital Management on the securitisation of the non-performing loan (NPL) portfolio of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena and other MPS group institutions. Senior partner Andrea Giannelli heads the banking and debt capital markets departments; Vittorio Pozzi was promoted to the partnership in 2019 and Antonio Siciliano is a notable senior counsel.

White & Case (Europe) LLP¬†advises on complex and large DCM and high-yield transactions in Italy. Michael Immordino, whose¬†practice is based jointly in London and Milan, and¬†Iacopo Canino¬†advised¬†Wind Tre on its ‚ā¨7.3bn issuance of high-yield senior-secured notes; and Gianluca Fanti¬†assists arrangers, originators, issuers and credit enhancement providers with securitisation transactions. Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer's practice covers standalone debt issues, debt programmes, subordinated bonds, high-yield debt offerings and securitisation transactions. Emiliano Conio advised Permira on the issuance by Twinset, an Italian manufacturer and retailer of luxury apparel, shoes and handbags, of a high-value bond. Corrado Angelelli is also highly rated and Francesco Lombardo  is an experienced senior associate.

Gattai Minoli Agostinelli & Partners' practice includes¬†the placement of debt instruments, including high-yield bonds, both in Italy and other European markets. The team assisted the global coordinators with the placement by a company, controlled by Bain Capital-managed funds, of a ‚ā¨410m high-yield bond. Structured finance and securitisation specialist¬†Emanuela Campari Bernacchi¬†and Gaetano Carrello¬†are highly rated.

Gianni, Origoni, Grippo, Cappelli & Partners¬†advises on the¬†issue of bonds,¬†MTN programmes, liability management transactions, structured securities and derivative warrants.¬†Together with the London office,¬†Richard Hamilton¬†advised Poste Italiane, as issuer, on the 2018 annual update of its ‚ā¨2bn EMTN programme.¬†Stefano Agnoli¬†is also a key adviser.

Hogan Lovells International LLP¬†acts in complex, high-value securitisations as well as¬†the issuance of bonds, including convertible and high-yield bonds and hybrid instruments.¬†Corrado Fiscale¬†assisted Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, as issuer, with the annual update of its ‚ā¨10bn debt issuance programme.¬†Federico Del Monte¬†is also highly rated;¬†Giulia Arenaccio¬†and Annalisa Feliciani¬†are experienced counsels.

Ashurst stands out for its experience in project bond transactions and has particular expertise of the infrastructure and energy sectors; it also advises on mini-bonds. BNP Paribas Securities Services is a client. Carloandrea Meacci and Franco Vigliano are the key advisers.

DLA Piper advises on the issuance and subscription of all types of debt securities and acts in securitisation transactions. The team is also experienced in the minibond market The client list includes UniCredit and Alitalia. Luciano Morello heads the Italian DCM practice.

Studio Legale e Tributario Ernst & Young's Umberto Mauro is a structured finance specialist; he advised SPV Project 1612, as issuer, on the securitisation of healthcare receivables. Massimiliano Bianchi was hired as associate partner from Clifford Chance.

Jones Day has a notable securitisation practice, particularly involving consumer finance and salary-secured loans, trade receivables and NPLs.
