Position

Partner and co-head of the Corporate and M&A practice group in Latvia

Career

I am a partner and co-head of the Corporate and M&A practice group in Latvia. I advise and provide legal support on a full range of corporate law matters, including mergers and acquisitions, and corporate dispute resolution. The main task of my work is to find the most suitable and appropriate solution for the client’s interests and aims so that the legal support and practical legal advice provided is part of a successful process for the client’s business.

Many years of experience in corporate law and M&A practice. Specialising since 2009 in advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, and corporate law matters, I have been a part of many large and significant transactions in Latvia and the Baltic region. The clients I have represented include the Latvian state and the largest Latvian state companies, as well as international corporations and local private companies which are leaders in their fields.

Experience in dispute resolution and litigation. In addition to corporate law and M&A practices, I have provided support to clients in resolving disputes, representing clients in litigation, arbitration and cross-border litigation. This provides an invaluable advantage and allows for more accurate identification of the causes and reasons for possible disagreements in future counterparty relationships, allowing for these to be addressed in a timely manner and to be resolved successfully at the stage of preparation and conclusion of the transaction.

Consultations on complex labour law issues. I provide support and advice to companies on labour law issues, both in establishing employment relations – including structuring contracts with company managers – and complex termination of employment and collective redundancy processes.
