Within: Competition and antitrust

The ‘very professional’ competition department at Veirano Advogados provides ‘excellent service’ and ‘adds value to the client’s business’. 2017 was another busy year for the team, which is equipped to handle the gamut of antitrust issues. It successfully represented Claro in the investigation into leading telecoms companies in Brazil and alleged abuse of dominant position with regard to zero-rating policies. On the merger review side, highlights included advising Hertz on the acquisition of its Brazilian business by Localiza Rent a Car and Localiza Fleet; the transaction was cleared without restrictions in 2017. Leonardo Maniglia Duarte, who has been a partner since 2016, attracts strong praise. Mariana Villela is another key contact.
