Advokatfirmaet BAHR AS’s ‘consistently brilliant’ practice ‘handles some of the most high-profile matters in the market’; recent work includes assisting Aker BP with issues relating to the redevelopment of the Valhall field, and advising Westcon Yards on a contract pertaining to the conversion of an accommodation rig. Deep Sea Supply and Ocean Installer are also clients. Geir Gustavsson leads the group, which also includes Jan Einar Barbo and Haakon Flaatten.

Advokatfirmaet Schjødt AS, which ‘receives top marks across the board’, acts for oil companies, ship yards and contractors; examples include Technip Norge, ExxonMobil, Ocean Yield and Songa Offshore. Practice head Amund Bjøranger Tørum is ‘brilliant’, Henrik Aadnesen is ‘highly practical’ and Trond Sollund handles litigation.

Erlend Lous heads the department at Advokatfirmaet Simonsen Vogt Wiig, which recently advised Aker BP on the Snadd subsea field development, assisted Bergen Group with its reorganisation and handled an offshore development for VNG Norge. Pål Lieungh and Jacob Bull jointly led the team. The ‘highly dedicated’ Asle Bjelland recently acted for Dong E&P on its involvement in the Hejre Field development and subsequent arbitration. Wikborg Reinmanages to quickly turn around top-quality advice that is always commercial and provides the exact answers needed’. Øystein Meland is ‘a clear leader for shipbuilding work’ and the group is recommended for its contentious expertise. Gaute Gjelsten and Øyvind Axe jointly lead the department.

At Arntzen de Besche, practice head Karl Erik Navestad is ‘highly experienced’ in offshore construction projects and the ‘incredibly capable’ Ole Skeidsvoll Moe is representing Kværner Verdal in arbitration proceedings relating to an offshore wind turbine jacket project.

Litigation and project work are the cornerstones of Kvale Advokatfirma DA’s practice. The ‘academically strongErik Brannsten represented West Oil Tools in contract disputes involving a temporary injunction. The ‘pragmatic and commercialJens Brede leads the team.

Eirik Høiby heads Kyllingstad Kleveland Advokatfirma DA’s practice, which advised Ocean Installer on multiple international engineering, procurement, construction and installation projects. Kværner, BW Offshore and Aker Solutions are also clients. Odd-Arne Kleveland is also a name to note. Lasse Hagen and Christopher Sveen joined Kvale Advokatfirma DA and Advokatfirmaet Haavind AS respectively.

Selmer excels in contract work; practice head Nils Bugge advised Kleven Maritime on a shipbuilding contract, and Øyvind Olimstad assisted Brødrene Dahl with agreement negotiations relating to the delivery of equipment. Liv Monica Stubholt handles oil and gas issues.
