Paul is dedicated and passionate about helping his clients and other relationships to achieve their business goals, by minimising risk, increasing revenue or finding new opportunities. He gets to grips with their issues and gains an understanding of their objectives through nurturing long term relationships, always looking to add value.

He uses his experience, looks for innovative ideas and solutions to provide help beyond just the law, including making introductions. Clients see Paul as approachable, a dependable trusted adviser and their first port of call, as well as someone who provides practical and pragmatic help. Paul enjoys helping clients who do innovative things and make a positive difference, particularly those in the tech space and in Pharmaceuticals & Life Sciences and Healthcare.

Paul set up PING in 2010 with the mission of helping clients and relationships from across the pharmaceutical supply chain, from manufacturer to pharmacy and others in the sector, to share and develop best practice and connections in a time of great challenge and change. So much good is done in that sector and Paul is proud of the difference his Pharmaceuticals & Life Sciences group has achieved through 'bringing excellence to life, together', the sector’s motto.

Paul Gershlick's team has been voted 'Pharmaceutical Law Firm of the Year in England 2016' by Global Legal Experts and Paul is 'Pharmaceutical Lawyer of the Year', retaining this award since 2014.

What Others Say

'Paul is one of the new breed of legal professionals who genuinely invests time and energy into establishing and nurturing relationships for the long term, and connecting like-minded people.'  Darren Spevick, Managing Partner at Eventum Partners

'Paul is an exceptional Legal Counsel. His rigour, preparation and attention to detail are second to none. His flawless arguments and support in favour of our commercial position have been honed working on many IT software and professional services engagements. Internationally adept and sensitive when required.'  Ian Baynes

'Most solicitors in my opinion, talk to you in a language I do not understand, but Paul's advice was understandable yet professional. Paul also gave my company some sound advice of things that I had not even thought of. Even though their office was not in my home town, this didn't matter as telephone appointments were always booked and the times kept to. Thank you Paul and your team.'  Kathleen Kirkland

VWV's 'very effective' corporate and commercial team in Watford was further strengthened by the firm's acquisition of healthcare specialist Lockharts, bringing on board partnership specialist Paul Werrell. In addition to healthcare, the practice's sector expertise also encompasses pharmaceuticals and life sciences, where clients include Sigma Pharmaceuticals; technology, where it has acted for more than 30 tech start-ups in 2017; education, where the practice has advised on a number of conversion matters for multi-academy trusts; and banking, where it regularly acts on large institutional lending and refinancing transactions, as well as for secondary lenders and borrowers. Richard Phillips heads the team and is 'a very capable lawyer who is also able to see the bigger picture, meaning he can give practical advice not merely legal technical guidance'. In an illustration of the practice's cross-border workload, Phillips acted of the sale of a Norwegian software company to an English purchaser. Other highlights included advising the National Pharmacy Association on an investment into a technology company that has developed an app to assist pharmacies with streamlining deliveries, improving record keeping and enhancing patient safety; and acting on the sale of Bodoni Systems to Agfa Graphics. Other key figures include Emma Cameron, who regularly advises on technology-related transactions, and Paul Gershlick, who heads the firm's pharmaceuticals and life sciences practice.
