The World Bank Group has released Enabling the Business of Agriculture 2017. The report presents data on legal barriers for farmers, entrepreneurs and businesses operating in agriculture in 62 countries and across the topics of land, seed, fertilizer, machinery, water, livestock, finance, markets, transport, and information and communication technology (ICT). The 2017 edition is the third in an annual series of reports providing objective measures of regulatory good practices and their enforcement in 62 countries studied. The EBA project focuses on identifying and monitoring regulations that affect agriculture and agribusiness markets. EBA aims to inform and encourage policy decisions that support inclusive participation in agricultural value chains and foster an environment that is conducive to local and regional businesses in agriculture.
The 2017 edition covers 62 countries including Armenia, Bangladesh, Benin, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Chile, Colombia, Côte d’Ivoire, Denmark, Egypt, Arab Republic, Ethiopia, Georgia, Ghana, Greece, Guatemala, Haiti, India, Italy, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Republic of Korea, Kyrgyz Republic, Lao PDR, Liberia, Malawi, Malaysia, Mali, Mexico, Morocco, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Niger, Nigeria, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Russian Federation, Rwanda, Senegal, Serbia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey, Uganda, Ukraine, Uruguay, Vietnam, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
