Anuwat Ngamprasertkul, Partner and Head of Litigation and Dispute Resolution at Blumenthal Richter & Sumet, was invited as a visiting lecturer to speak on “Computer and Cyber Laws” at an online seminar on 24 April 2022 as part of a Master’s Degree curriculum at the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce.

Anuwat shared his experience and practical concerns including the approach to crisis management in preventing white collar crime as well as taking legal actions against hackers from outside organizations and fraudsters inside organizations. Such legal actions are normally carried out in collaboration with the lawyer in charge and all related officers (police, prosecutors, etc.) to gather, explore, determine and present computer forensic evidence to the Court in criminal cases. Also, this is used to maximize civil claims for damages in the Civil Court, Labour Court or Arbitration proceedings.

As an expert in personal data protection law, Anuwat also shared updates on the full enforcement of the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) on 1 June 2022 including preparing for the law, criminal penalties and conducting investigations using a checklist after obtaining a criminal report on non-compliance with the PDPA.
