Tobias Abersfelder has joined GSK Stockmann’s Hamburg office as of 1 December as Counsel in the areas of compliance and investigations as well as dispute resolution. Abersfelder comes to GSK Stockmann from Eversheds Sutherland.

Tobias Abersfelder (34) will be working in the compliance and dispute resolution team headed by Justus Jansen and will be a valuable addition to GSK Stockmann’s already strong practice providing preventive compliance advice, in particular in the area of internal investigations and white-collar criminal law. His advice focuses primarily on establishing facts in accordance with employment and data protection law. Another area of focus is protecting and pursuing corporate interests in the context of civil proceedings for the recovery of assets or in criminal investigations.

Tobias Abersfelder also has specific expertise in the field of foreign trade law, in particular in advising on voluntary declarations exempting companies from penalties and defending companies in the event of investigations involving fines or criminal consequences.

Abersfelder’s expertise will strengthen GSK Stockmann’s compliance teams and strategically expand the firm’s advisory services in this area. One of the corporate law firm’s particular areas of focus currently is on the new compliance requirements imposed on its clients under the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG), as well as the upcoming obligations under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the European Supply Chain Directive. Abersfelder will further reinforce this strong preventive approach by advising clients facing allegations of non-compliance.

Abersfelder is joining GSK Stockmann from the white collar team at Eversheds Sutherland, where he recently also worked as seconded counsel in the business conduct and ethics department at a global online mail-order company.
