Schoenherr Romania advised ROMCIM, a CRH Company (“ROMCIM”) on merger clearance and FDI filing regarding its acquisition of Bauelemente Reinvest and its branch, Bauelemente.

With this transaction, ROMCIM adds three production facilities to its Romanian business, located in Bolintin Deal (Giurgiu), Cristian (Sibiu), and Aricestii Rahtivani (Prahova).

Schoenherr Bucharest’s competition, EU & foreign trade team advised ROMCIM on the FDI filing and obtaining merger clearance from the Romanian competition authority. The Romanian law firm RTPR advised ROMCIM in connection with the transaction.

ROMCIM, a CRH Company, is a leading provider of cement, aggregates, and concrete in the Romanian construction sector. ROMCIM operates cement factories in Medgidia and Hoghiz, a grinding station in Targu Jiu, along with cement terminals, cement stations, quarries, gravel pits, and one logistic warehouse.

Bauelemente is a major manufacturer of concrete and prefabricated structures in Romania. It was part of the Baupartner Group, which includes companies active in construction, design, the production of prefabricated concrete elements, the production of welded pipes, and the production of renewable energy from biogas and agriculture.
