Schoenherr advised Austrian HS Timber Group on the acquisition of Luvian Saha Oy, one of the largest private sawmills in Finland, from private owners. The transaction closed on 29 April 2022.
Based in Vienna, HS Timber Group is one of the leading wood processing companies in Europe. It is active in the timber industry and in the bioenergy sector throughout the CEE region, exporting its products to 70 different destinations.
Luvian Saha is one of Finland’s largest private providers of sawn and further processed products. Since 1976, the company has been a forerunner in the wood processing industry meeting the industry´s demand for professionally treated wood.
The Schoenherr team was led by Christian Herbst (partner) and Maximilian Lang (partner) and also included Markus Fasching (associate).
Schoenherr acted as lead counsel on the transaction, Hannes Snellmann, Helsinki, advised alongside Schoenherr.
