Ms. Eda Duru graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Law in 2005. She was admitted to the Istanbul Bar in 2007. Before joining ELIG Gurkaynak Attorneys-at-Law in 2014, Eda worked as a senior associate in the competition law department of a leading law firm based in Istanbul. She was assigned to undertake numerous merger and acquisition filings, competition law compliance matters and investigations conducted by the Turkish Competition Authority and has extensive experience in these areas. She has represented various multinational and national companies before the Turkish Competition Authority in a variety of markets and sectors.
Mr. O. Onur Özgümüş graduated from Koç University School of Law in 2008. He was admitted to the Istanbul Bar in 2009. Before joining ELIG Gürkaynak Attorneys-at-Law in 2014, Onur worked at reputable law firms in Istanbul. He has extensive experience in all areas of competition law including compliance to competition law rules, cartel agreements, abuse of dominance cases, merger control and investigations. He has represented various multinational and national companies before the Turkish Competition Authority and before administrative courts.
Ms. Betül Baş Çömlekçi graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 2012. She was admitted to the Istanbul Bar in 2013. She has obtained her LL.M. degree from Brussels School of Competition. Before joining ELIG Gürkaynak Attorneys-at-Law in 2014, Betül worked as an associate in the competition law department of a reputable law firm in Istanbul. She has extensive experience in merger and acquisition filings, competition law compliance matters and investigations conducted by the Turkish Competition Authority. She has represented various multinational and national companies before the Turkish Competition Authority in various sectors.
Ms. Sinem Uğur graduated from Istanbul Commerce University in 2011. She was admitted to the Istanbul Bar in 2013 and same year joined ELIG Gürkaynak Attorneys-at-Law. Sinem has extensive experience in all areas of competition law, including anti-dumping, trade defense tools, compliance programs in various sectors, cartel agreements, abuse of dominance cases, vertical agreements, merger control. She also provided legal assistance to national and multinational companies, and industry associations during trade policy defence tools investigations initiated by investigating authorities both in Turkey and abroad. She has co-authored a number of articles and has spoken at conferences and symposia pertaining to her practice areas.
Ms. Berfu Akgün graduated from Bilkent University, Faculty of Law in 2013. She was admitted to the Ankara Bar in 2014 and later on transferred to Istanbul Bar. She obtained her LL.M. degree in City University of London in 2015 and same year joined ELIG Gürkaynak Attorneys-at-Law. Berfu is experienced in all competition law related matters in general, including merger and acquisition and investigations conducted by the Turkish Competition Authority. Berfu has represented various multinational and national companies in various sectors before the Turkish Competition Authority. She also co-authored several articles pertaining to her area of expertise.
Mr. Kağan Uçar graduated from Kadir Has University Faculty of Law in 2013. He was admitted to the Istanbul Bar in 2014. He obtained his LL.M. degrees from University of Hamburg and Erasmus University of Rotterdam from the European Master in Law and Economics (EMLE) program in 2016. Before joining ELIG Gürkaynak Attorneys-at-Law in 2016, Kağan worked as an associate in a leading law firm based in Istanbul. He has extensive experience in merger and acquisition filings, competition law compliance matters and investigations conducted by the Turkish Competition Authority. He has represented various multinational and national companies before the Turkish Competition Authority in various sectors.
Mr. Görkem Yardım graduated from Ihsan Doğramacı Bilkent University, Faculty of Law in 2011. He was admitted to the Ankara Bar in 2012 and later on transferred to Istanbul Bar. Görkem obtained his first LL.M. degree in Law & Economics from Ihsan Doğramacı Bilkent University in 2013. He was granted a scholarship by Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme and then held his second LL.M. degree from King’s College, London in 2014. Görkem joined ELIG Gürkaynak Attorneys-at- Law in 2014. He has extensive experience in merger and acquisition filings, competition law compliance matters and investigations conducted by the Turkish Competition Authority. He has represented various multinational and national companies before the Turkish Competition Authority in various sectors.
