E+H advised ed-energiedigital, a Graz-based startup that digitally establishes and manages energy communities through an innovative and comprehensive platform, on a successful seven-figure seed financing round. The investment was provided by JS North Asia Investments Limited. With this fresh capital, the promising startup plans to consistently pursue its growth trajectory and further expand its market position.
ed-energiedigital GmbH was founded in Graz in 2022 by Martin Moser, Andreas Zobl, and Stefano Coss and specializes in digitally managing energy communities. The platform combines all relevant processes into a single, intuitive solution – from establishment and energy planning to participant management and automated billing of energy flows. It supports all common community models, including Community Generation Facilities (GEA), Renewable Energy Communities (EEG), and Citizen Energy Communities (BEG).
The key difference of ed-energiedigital is its intelligent self-consumption optimization: Using APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) and proprietary hardware, energy generation and consumption within the community are tracked and analyzed in real time. Based on this, flexible consumers can be automatically controlled so that they are primarily active when there is sufficient electricity available within the community – for example, during periods of high photovoltaic generation during the day.
