DZP law firm advised R.Power, one of the largest independent producers of green energy in Poland, on concluding a 10-year vPPA (virtual Power Purchase Agreement) with Allegro, Europe’s largest e-commerce platform.

Under the agreement, the parties will secure the price of more than 200 GWh of green electricity produced by R.Power’s photovoltaic farms between 2025 and 2035. The agreement aligns with Allegro Group’s climate goals, allowing the company to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 150,000 tons.

The virtual Power Purchase Agreement (vPPA) is an effective tool to ensure that energy prices remain stable, allowing for obtaining bank financing for developing other energy projects. The agreement also protects Allegro by guaranteeing energy origin throughout its term.

“The agreement with Allegro is another significant PPA signed by R.Power in recent months. Long-term energy supply agreements are one of our growth priorities. As a group, we intend to offer companies green solutions that not only secure their energy prices, but also support their ESG goals. R.Power provides long-term power purchase agreements for businesses, while our group company, Quanta Energy, provides comprehensive energy advice and ‘solar-as-a-service’ solutions for commercial and industrial customers with large-scale activities,” says Przemek Pięta, President of the Management Board of R.Power.

The client was advised by DZP lawyers: Rafał Hajduk, Partner and Aleksandra Dalkowska, Associate from the Infrastructure and Energy Practice.
