Singapore’s Bih Li & Lee LLP has expanded its Corporate and Energy practice with the appointment of sector specialist Marina Chua as Partner.

Marina rejoins the firm from Amazon, the world’s biggest corporate purchaser of renewable energy. Having spent the last decade as in-house counsel for local and multinational energy companies, Marina brings with her a unique depth of knowledge of clients’ needs, particularly in the renewable energy and LNG sectors.

Marina has invaluable experience in structuring agreements on renewable energy and carbon offsets to suit the unique jurisdictions across the Asia-Pacific region, including first-of-its-kind agreements with state-owned entities.

She also has a broad range of experience in the LNG sector, having advised on and negotiated agreements across the LNG value chain, such as LNG sale and purchase agreements, terminal use agreements and gas supply agreements.

Managing Partner, Loh Wai Mooi: “We are thrilled to welcome Marina back to the firm. Marina’s background and pedigree experience in the energy sector is a real asset for us and aligns with the strategic direction of the firm. We see the energy and renewables energy sector as an area of huge potential in Asia. This hire adds to a very exciting period of growth for us.”

Marina adds: “I’m delighted to rejoin Bih Li & Lee. Having spent the formative years of my legal career in the firm, I am very excited to come back and apply the hands-on experience and insights I’ve gained as specialist energy in-house counsel to take the firm to the next level.”
