Azmi & Associates is pleased to announce the appointment of Sharifah Sazita Syed Hamzah as its new partner of the Firm’s Infrastructure, PPP and Project Finance (IPPF) Practice Group, in line with the Firm’s growth strategy and continued expansion.
Sharifah Sazita brings on board 27 years of varied and wide-ranging experience in the areas of infrastructure and utilities privatisation, PPP projects, project finance, aviation, airport facilities, water utility, waste management, privatisation, buildings, infrastructure and development (bridge, petroleum terminal & port), property development, information technology, oil & gas, concession and construction.
Sharifah Sazita is a qualified lawyer both in Malaysia and the UK. She has established her reputation as an expert in the infrastructure and utilities privatisation and PPP projects particularly in Malaysia and in the Middle East countries.
She completed her LL. B from the University of London (SOAS) in 1987. She finished her Bar Course from London’s Council of Legal Education and was called to the Bar at the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn as a Barrister-at-Law in 1989.
In 1990, she was called to the Malaysian Bar and admitted to the roll of
Advocates and Solicitors in 1991. Since then she has over 25 years of practice
including some 8 years at the Middle East countries with one of the biggest law firm in the Middle East and with a top tier Canadian banking law firm having office in Middle East.
Sharifah Sazita is the 18th Partner of our Firm. Her appointment will add further dimension to our Firm’s practice areas and from her exposure in cross-border dealing with the Middle Eastern countries and renowned personal reputation, we are confident that her expertise in the PPP can still be offered to international clients whilst positioning herself in Malaysia.
