Schoenherr has named four new partners and one new counsel effective February 2024. Specialising in various practice areas and coming from different markets, the new partners and counsel reflect Schoenherr’s commitment to being the natural firm of choice for Central Eastern Europe.

Newly promoted partners

Iustin Armașu (Romania) – Specialising in dispute resolution, Iustin Armașu has broad experience in litigation, arbitration, insolvency and restructuring. He has a strong track record in assisting on sophisticated litigation cases, with a focus on high-stakes administrative contentious, corporate, capital market, employment, contractual liability and insolvency matters. Iustin Armașu has also led project teams handling internal investigations across various industries.

Christoph Cudlik (Austria) – A renowned public law expert, Christoph Cudlik specialises in all areas of energy and environmental law. He advises on some of the largest renewable energy and circular economy projects in Austria. Additionally, he regularly assists private and state-owned companies, authorities and interest groups on all matters related to environmental impact assessments, nature protection, waste, water, gas and construction law.

Michael Marschall (Austria) – An M&A specialist, Michael Marschall has extensive experience in joint ventures, strategic alliances and business collaborations as well as M&A transactions in various industries (TMT, packaging and energy) in Austria and CEE. He also regularly advises clients on domestic and cross-border corporate reorganisations and on corporate governance matters.

Teresa Waidmann (Austria) – Specialising in labour and employment law, Teresa Waidmann advises her clients in a wide range of industries on all contentious and non-contentious employment matters. She has vast experience in HR matters arising in connection with M&A transactions and specialises in issues arising in the context of digital labour and the gig economy.

Newly promoted counsel

Marina Stanisavljevic (Austria) – A common law lawyer and international law specialist, Marina Stanisavljevic focuses on investor-state and commercial arbitration. She represents clients under various institutional rules and arbitral seats, including in pharmaceutical, information & communication, sponsorship agreements, post-M&A and telecommunications. She also regularly advises international clients on investment treaty claims under various BITs and on other international law matters.
