Career

Mónica is an Associate Attorney in the firm, with experience in providing legal advice to corporations in public, environmental, administrative and civil law matters. She also has litigation experience at an international level, before the Inter-American Human Rights System and the European Human Rights System. Monica also has vast experience in politics and international law, in organizations such as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

Likewise, she has advised companies and the public sector in public procurement procedures, from the analysis of terms of reference, to the submission of offers, resources and during the execution of awarded contracts.

Mónicas experience in environmental matters is also evident in her advice to companies in the application of regulations for the management of solid and hazardous waste, agrochemicals, wastewater treatment plants, water discharge permits, and the use and protection of water and forest resources; as well as support in processes before the Administrative Environmental Tribunal and the Agrarian-Environmental Prosecutors Office. Her advice is also notable in the preparation of Remedial Plans for the repair and remediation of environmental damage.

Her support is also noteworthy in administrative proceedings before public institutions, as well as in contentious-administrative and constitutional proceedings.

She has participated in extensive due diligence processes from a regulatory and environmental perspective, during high-level transactions, including projects in the fishing, automotive, hospitality, plastic, and chemical industries, among others.

Due to her experience, Mónica also provides support in corporate social responsibility initiatives, from a human rights perspective.
