Career

He works as an expert auditor in legal and environmental management assessments, occupational health, food safety, social responsibility, and quality, based on ISO standards, as well as Rain Forest Alliance standards for coffee, ornamental plants, bananas, pineapple excellence audits and BASC.

Partner and leader of the Department of Environmental Law, Occupational Health and Safety and Food Safety, as well as Sustainability services (Environmental, Social, Governance). Roberto has more than twenty years of experience at the service of national and international organizations. He stands out for its services to corporate clients, public institutions as well as non-governmental organizations in Central and South America, providing comprehensive legal advice, innovative solutions and a preventive approach based on risk analysis on environmental legal matters, in occupational health and safety, which visualizes sustainability as the correct way to do business.

He has extensive experience leading processes of development and implementation of Environmental Due Diligence from the phase of diagnosis, quantification, sampling, and final remediation. He has also participated in the development of Environmental Impact Studies in projects of various kinds.

Environmental Regent registered with the National Environmental Secretariat of Costa Rica (SETENA) has participated in the regency processes of companies such as Marina Golfito, Van Oord Bam (Moín Container Dock), Fiesta Hotel Developer, Sur Química, Kimberly Clark, Proquinal, ADSM Central America S.A., Hotel and Condominium Villas Wafou, Boston Scientific, CSI Closure Systems Manufacturing of Central America, Arthrocare Costa Rica S.R.L.

Hes an expert in the Management of Environmental Crisis and Occupational Health and Safety, as well as Environmental Strategy Communication processes. He has served as a litigator in the Environmental Administrative Court as well as environmental criminal proceedings.

Since 2015 he is an advisor to the Chamber of Pineapple Producers of Costa Rica and has been coordinator of the Environmental and Sustainability Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Costa Rica (AMCHAM). He is a member of the Environmental Commission of the Costa Rican Bar Association, and of the Technical Committee for the Review of the Regulations for the Evaluation and Classification of the Quality of Surface Water Bodies in Costa Rica.

He has recently been part of multidisciplinary teams for the development of Covid-19 Health Protocols for various companies, chambers, and organizations, as well as a reference in terms of mandatory vaccination.
