Career

Ernesto has been part of the Arias corporate law department since 2011, providing legal advice to national and multinational companies of different sectors and industries, as an external counsel and as an in-house counsel. His experience focuses primarily on the practice areas of corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance, data privacy, and fintech.

Ernesto also has extensive experience advising on the negotiation, preparation and legal formalization of contracts of various types, in civil, commercial, labor and banking matters, among others; as well as providing legal advice on corporate governance and business regulatory compliance matters.

He has participated in various merger and acquisition transactions, providing legal advice in due diligence processes, as well as in the review, negotiation and formalization of the legal documents of this type of transactions, such as share and asset purchases, shareholders´ agreements, among others.

He has been legal advisor and coordinator in considerable financing operations at a local level and with multiple jurisdictions involved; with national, foreign and multilateral banks; including advice on due diligence processes, review, negotiation and legal formalization of credits, loans, guarantees and related legal documentation.

Since joining the firm, Ernesto has been recognized by his clients for his high level of legal knowledge, professionalism, commitment, and excellent customer service, in all the projects and transactions in which he has been involved.

Additionally, he has advised and coordinated expansion projects, with extensive experience in the negotiation, preparation, and legal formalization of contracts of infrastructure construction and works of different nature, such as civil and aeronautical works.
