Jatinder is a Partner in the International Serious Injury team at Irwin Mitchell, based in their Birmingham office, but representing claimants nationwide. He has vast experience in group litigation and cross border disputes.

Jatinder manages a large team which primarily deals with group actions against UK-based tour operators, or single party actions against defendants in foreign countries (often working with foreign lawyers). He handles claims involving illness, such as E-Coli and Salmonella, and outbreaks on cruise ships.

Jatinder also handles group action claims relating to domestic illness outbreaks, as part of the firm’s Public Health team and notable cases include the fatal water contamination at the Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridge, and numerous illness outbreaks at restaurants and hotels across the country.

Jatinder frequently appear in the press, and has been quoted in the Daily Mail, The Sun, The Times and The Daily Mirror. I’ve also been interviewed by the BBC, ITV and Sky News.

In 2016, he was named as the Young Professional of the Year at the Signature Awards in Birmingham. The Signature Awards celebrates the work of Asian professionals working in a range of industries including banking, accountancy and law.

He is a Fellow of APIL and is an Accidents and Illnesses Abroad Specialist. He often lectures at events organised for industry colleagues, such as APIL, RSPH and PEOPIL and in 2019, was elected Secretary of the APIL International Special Interest Group. He is a Trustee of GAIN, a charity who supports those with serious neuropathy conditions.

Irwin Mitchell is known as a ‘genuine national leader for technical know-how and experience in group litigation’, with a pre-eminent practice in claims related to defective products, medical negligence, and travel illness. Cases undertaken are often highly publicised, with the team notable having acted on the Boeing 737 claims and Lariam claims brought against the Ministry of Defence. The leadership of the team is split four ways, with Tim Annett, Sallie Booth, David Johnston-Keay  and senior associate Jatinder Paul  all sitting at the helm of the practice.
