Martin Hrdlík, a partner at the Czech law firm KPMG Legal, has been appointed the Head of Legal for Central and Eastern Europe, taking charge of KPMG’s legal operations in the region across 16 countries, with more than 250 attorneys. In his new role, Hrdlík will focus on further integrating legal services, building on the firm’s strong track record in adopting technologies, and driving an ongoing digital transformation of both client services and internal operations.
“KPMG’s network of law firms in the CEE region has recorded double-digit growth over the past year, and the goal is to maintain that momentum. We are making substantial investments into people, technology, and innovation to provide our clients with services that align with the evolving demands of the digital economy. The global KPMG network plans to invest over a billion dollars into tax and legal technology over the next five years, and we are determined to ensure that the CEE region will benefit as much as possible from this investment,” Hrdlík commented.
Digital Gateway for Law Automating Routine
KPMG Legal continues to champion a multidisciplinary approach, merging legal expertise with consulting and other services – and also with technology, including AI-based tools. At the forefront of this approach is Digital Gateway for Law, the firm’s proprietary cloud-based solution designed to help legal teams by automating routine tasks and processes while ensuring a consistent output quality, allowing them to focus on complex matters with higher added value.
DG GenAI is another tool developed by KPMG Legal, offering an AI-based solution that helps companies handle their financial, tax, and legal agendas more effectively.
Under Hrdlík’s leadership, KPMG’s legal operations in the CEE region will intensify their focus on innovation even more. “At the some time, we will continue working with key clients from strategic sectors, like finance and energy sector. Defence has emerged as a sector of growing importance, offering new opportunities throughout the region,” he says.
