During the conference Grain Forum & Maritime Days 2017, attended by George Zambartas a Ukrainian ship owner engaged us through our associated law firm in Odessa, Interlegal  to make an urgent application to release the master from arrest.

The
master was detained in Larnaca following  calls at Famagusta, the
Northern Cyprus port, which is prohibited under Cypriot Law.

A team from our shipping department in Limassol compromised of Eva Themistocleous and Sonia Ajini
( supported by Theocharis Panayi) , jointly with representatives of
Interlegal, responded immediately and prepared the application through
the night  to represent the client’s interests in Larnaca court, and
secure the release of the master the following  morning so he could
return to the vessel ensuring that the vessel was not detained in
Larnaca over the weekend.

The speed of the response  and the coordinated teamwork with our
associated office , Interlegal,  were key factors to achieving an early
and successful release of the master less than one day after filing the
application.

George Zambartas and  the customer relationship manager of Interlegal, Vadym Solopko, led the case.
