GSK Stockmann is advising the local authority of Föhr-Amrum on the establishment of a medical centre on the island of Amrum in Schleswig-Holstein. With the founding of MVZ Amrum gGmbH, the municipalities on the island are securing access to primary health care for both local residents and visitors to the island.
The local authority of Föhr-Amrum is responsible for the municipalities on the North Frisian islands of Amrum and Föhr in Schleswig-Holstein. The municipalities of Nebel, Norddorf auf Amrum and Wittdün auf Amrum have founded MVZ Amrum gGmbH.
In Germany, rural areas in particular often suffer from a shortage of doctors, and the municipalities on Amrum are no different. As the only way to get to the island from the mainland is a two-hour ferry journey, the municipalities had no other option but to set up their own medical centre. The newly established MVZ Amrum gGmbH will guarantee local access to primary care for over 2,300 residents and around 110,000 visitors every year. The medical centre will be operated in the municipality of Wittdün auf Amrum.
A GSK Stockmann team led by Arne Gniechwitz advised the local authority of Föhr-Amrum on corporate law issues in connection with founding MVZ Amrum gGmbH, conducting a tender procedure for the management of the company, municipal law issues and the drafting of contracts.
