The highly experienced team at Cobalt offers the gamut of expertise across transportation, including shipping and aviation. Gatis Flinters, Girts Lejins and senior associate Liga Fjodorova are the key contacts; they represented DSV Transport in a transportation dispute. In other work, the practice assisted Baltic Maritime Logistics Group with the purchase of two marine vessels and acted for Riga International Airport in a dispute with Ryanair.

Sorainen takes on work ranging from shipping issues to rail-related, airport and airline disputes. Agris Repšs leads the department, and senior associate Valts Nerets heads the transport group. It acted for SweOffshore Maritime on a complex range of matters connected with the sale of the Regina Baltica.

At Ellex, a core team comprising head of corporate Raimonds Slaidiņš, senior counsel Ivars Slokenbergs and Māris Brizgo handle aircraft procurements, leasing and related financing as well as road and rail procurements. Its clients include Bombardier, Finnlines and various major banking institutions, and it is advising airBaltic on a number of procurement matters, including the tender for the design and construction of an aircraft hangar at Riga International Airport.

Eversheds Sutherland Bitāns acts for a number of airlines, road and rail transportation clients and owners of port facilities. It assisted Ventspils Nafta Termināls with issues concerning transhipment of oil products and is acting for Turkish Airlines on a range of airline-specific and corporate matters. Senior partner Māris Vainovskis and Māris Logins jointly head the department.

Kronbergs Čukste Derling provides wide-ranging advice to both government and corporate clients on rail, road and shipping matters. It is advising Nordic Tankers Marine on various contractual matters and is assisting Latvian Railways with financing agreements in connection with the future development of its infrastructure. Vineta Čukste-Jurjeva is the key contact.

At Primus, Attorneys at Law, Sintija Radionova and Kristīne Gaigule-Šāvēja lead the team, which acts for clients such as TAV Airports Holding, Havas Group and Alpha Shipping. Its work includes acting for LSEZ SIA Dan Store on various freight forwarding and stevedoring matters at its cargo handling terminal at the Port of Liepāja.

TGS Baltic counts European Investment Bank, Ceva Logistics Netherlands and DSV Air & Sea among its new clients. Ivars Grunte heads the department jointly with Andra Rubene, who advised Mars on numerous sea and land transportation issues.

Vilgerts has a focus on shipping and land transport disputes. Gints Vilgerts and senior associate Jānis Kubilis are acting for automobile transportation company Fracht on litigation concerning cargo misappropriation, and for If P&C Insurance in a number of international trade disputes.
