Cobalt’s ‘highly qualified experts’ are renowned for construction and real estate disputes. Managing partner Dace Silava-Tomsone is a ‘knowledgeable and experienced’ head of department, who has been representing Tineo in a personal injury case following a building collapse and is advising Maskavas NIP on construction permits and regulations pertaining to a retail, entertainment and office centre development. Other names to note are Toms Sulmanis and senior associate Edgars Pastars.

Ellex’s merger with Glimstedt & Partners added Ivars Pommers, who now heads the team, and Inita Jurka to the practice. At their previous firm, the duo advised a joint venture between Plaza Centers and New Century Holding investment fund on the €93m sale of Rīga Plaza. In other highlights, Ilga Gudrenika-Krebs advised Blackstone Real Estate Partners Europe IV on acquiring and refinancing three shopping centres, as well as development financing. Jeld-Wen Latvija and Baltic Property Trust Secura are also clients.

At Eversheds Sutherland Bitans, Ģirts Rūda acted for Latectus on the disposal of several office, multi-use and residential properties; the team also represents the client in property development, management and construction work. Other clients include TER Properties, LatRosTrans and Ventspils nafta terminals. Practice head Ilze Kramiņa provides ‘excellent and quick analysis’.

Fort is ‘very professional and adaptive to challenges’. ‘Top-notch’ practice head Jānis Līkops and senior associate Roberts Prūsis assisted an Atrium Group company with selling the Atrium Azur shopping centre to KS Holding. Other clients include Sodra and Rotermann Grupp. Associate partner Uldis Judinskis and recently promoted senior associate Ieva Balcere are also recommended.

At Kronbergs Cukste Derling, Vineta Čukste-Jurjeva advised Latvijas Dzelzceļš on step-in rights related to leasing Riga Central Station to Norwegian investors. Lion Holding Group and Intertrust Technologies are additional clients. Department head Valters Kronbergs has handled cross-border real estate acquisitions and complex landlord and tenant issues.

Primus, Attorneys at Law has handled construction and development mandates in the residential sector and various energy and transport infrastructure projects. Kristīne Gaigule-Šāvēja is advising TAV Airports Holding on various matters, including the expansion of Riga International Airport’s passenger terminal. Sintija Radionova and Laura Zalāna are highly regarded.

Sorainen excels at construction work in the energy sector, as well as retail and other commercial property. The firm advised two Linstow group companies on extensions of the Origo and Alfa shopping centres. Other clients include Rigaburger and Minsterejas projekti. Recently promoted partner Lelde Laviņa now heads the practice alongside Agris Repšs and Pekka Puolakka, who is based in Estonia and Latvia.

The ‘excellentTGS Baltic handles diverse mandates, ranging from construction work to real estate acquisitions and zoning matters. Department head Linda Štrause advised the partnership of FCC, Hochtief and A.C.B on a contract related to the construction of an infrastructure project at Riga International Airport. Rīgas Dzirnavnieks and Rudus are also clients.

Vilgerts handles developments, commercial leasing and transactional work. Gints Vilgerts and newly promoted senior associate Vairis Dmitrijevs advised Saliena on an investment and long-term lease agreement with King’s Education Services regarding the construction of a building.

Amber Law’s workload includes disputes, leasing and property transactions. Annija Svemberga’s clients include Benetton Group and Jeld-Wen. Senior associate Kristaps Mežinskis joined the team from independent practice.

Klotini & Sergis covers work including property transactions, commercial rental work and construction litigation. Varis Klotiņš, senior partner Pēteris Serģis and managing partner Ivo Klotiņš are ‘highly qualified experts’.

Njord Law Firm’s recent mandates include property acquisitions, rental agreements and residential development investments. Practice head Dmitri Kolesnikov stands out along with construction expert Sergei Petrov.
