Career

Patricia joined Marval O’Farrell Mairal as a partner in 1987. Since August 2017 she is of counsel within the firm. Before joining the firm she worked for The First National Bank of Boston, in Boston, from 1985 until 1986. She also worked for the law firm of Klein & Mairal from 1979 until 1984 and for the Office Juridique Français et International in Paris between 1978 and 1979.

Presently she is vice-president of the Business Law Commission of the Buenos Aires Bar Association as is a member of the International Bar Association and chair of the Corporations Commission of the International Association of Lawyers (UIA). She was a founding member and chair of the Argentine Forum of Executive Women (FAME).

Education

She graduated from the Law School of the University of Buenos Aires in 1975. She also obtained a Diplôme Supérieur in Corporate Law from the School of Law of the University of Paris II (Panthéon) in 1977 and a Master in Laws (LL.M.) from the Law School of Harvard University in 1985.

Marval O’Farrell Mairal is at the forefront of international trade activity in Argentina and a “go-to” adviser on complex trade investigations, anti-dumping matters, import and export regulations, trade policy and foreign exchange controls. The team is also recognised for the depth of its expertise regarding customs valuations, rules of origin, tariff code classifications and associated litigation. The practice is co-led by Pablo Gayol, a reference on anti-dumping law, and Juan Pablo Rothschild, in turn an authority on customs law. The team’s deep roster of talent also includes deeply experienced partner Patricia López Aufranc (anti-dumping), and senior associate Juan Martin Sanz (customs). Former fellow senior Jazmine Daruich  moved in house in February 2023.
