Partner since 2008. Gonzalo is a partner of the Mining Group, specialized in M&A, mining, corporate, energy, project development, mining contracts, land access and water rights. He advises companies doing business in Chile, Argentina and Ecuador based on a comprehensive understanding of the mining
business. He counts with a recognized experience in designing strategies for mining transactions and has a strong expertise in negotiating joint venture and all types of agreements related to the mining and energy activities.

The practice is jointly led by the 2021-2022 co-chair of the IBA Mining Committee, Carlos Pérez-Cotapos, who is regularly sought out for major foreign mining investment projects, mining sector-related M&A transactions, and the financing of mining projects; and Gonzalo Grez, who has notable expertise in mining-related hi-tech agreements, along with other mining-chain matters, community and land access issues, and cross-border transactions.
